Hello Uni's :) It's Yasmin here on the blog today and I have a layout and a matchbook card with a tutorial for you. So this is going to be a bit of a long post, so hopefully you will stay with me to the end. So my first share today is my layout. I got to play with the Salvage District Collection from our favorite company Prima Marketing.
I've used the Prima molds to make some of my decorative elements and loads of gorgeous Prima flowers.
The background is made with stencils and modeling paste. I also used Tim Holtz distress Ink pads with another stencil to add more texture and patteren in the background. I added watercolor confections, stamping and loads of splattering to finish.
I fuzzy cut loads of images out of the papers, like the butterfly and half the clock on the side here.
That was my layout with the Salvage District Papers and Embellishments. I did make a matchbook card tutorial for this post as well. I've used the same papers as the layout to make my card. :)
I've used loads of flowers both from Prima and petaloo. I also fuzzy cut from the papers and embossed a sentiment onto my card.
Here's a video tutorial on how I made my card:
It's super easy to make and they are so much fun. You can add photos, sentiments, poems and loads of writing in the accordian inside the card. You can also make pockets to add giftcards and money. A great gift as itself.
Isn't these papers gorgeous?
These are some of the products used in today's post:
Thank you so much for join me today and making it all through to the end. Hope you all have a marvellous creative day :)
A big hello to all our crafty friends,
It's my turn to share a little creativity and this time I am using the gorgeous Neverending Summer paper collection from LemonCraft.
In particular I've created with the pinks and blues in this paper collection.
Ta da - we have one box ...
Now inside that one box we have a wee surprise.
We surely do ...
I've called this project my 'butterfly box'.
Ta da - we have another box.
Let me share a little more detail on this part of the project.
My floral embellishment cluster.
Cut out three leaves, two floral die cuts, cut out some small pieces of corrugated cardboard - you will also need a little muslin [cheesecloth], liquid adhesive, a flower of some sort for the top and some stamens and/or baubles.
Take one small piece of corrugated card and put a dollop of adhesive on top, adhere your three leaves, then another dollop of glue, a little muslin, before you then adhere down one of your floral die cuts.
Now just before you adhere, tweak your petals with your fingers, roughen them up a little, add another dollop of glue, another small piece of corrugated card and your next paper floral layer and then on the top your flower itself.
You can see the height a little between the layers.
Now grab a few stamens - I tend to use three for each stamen cluster that I am making - I fold them in half and twist them a few times and then tuck them in with glue.
On the top of the box - a blue embellishment cluster
Each inside panel has been decorated ...
and again ...

If you are in my part of the world, wrap up warm, and spend a little time creating.

Hi Uni's!
Today I'm sharing a layout I created using Riddersholm Newport Collection from the Flying Unicorn Store.
This collection is pretty versatile and so perfect for beach layouts. I just had to chose pictures of my great niece playing at the ocean to scrap using this paper!
On the background sheet, I used a Prima stencil, Decor 2, and then lightly went over it with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Mermaid Lagoon. I then cut out a larger circle and smaller circle from two different sheets of the Newport Collection and layered them using my photos on the smaller circle.Using thin twine I lined the circles.
I used a black marker to color the 13arts chipboard words. Using a Gel Medium to adhere the sand, I did 2 layers, letting the sand dry in between. I found only 1 layer of sand was too thin. I then added in the shells and glass beads.
The blue flowers I used are from Petaloo. and the rest from my stash.
Be sure to grab this beautiful collection before it's gone!! I know I'm grabbing more!
Thanks for stopping by!

Hello Paper & Uni friends.
It's Lydia here with a today post for Flying Unicorn.
I recently watched a Ustream by Marta Lapkowska and loved how she started the background of one of her tags, so here goes my version of it. Although it starts the same it ends completely different. As always I just love projects with flowers.
I started with a Prima Chipboard tag and painted it with the Prima - Art Alchemy - Acrylic Paint Metallique Rich Turquoise - 963231. These paints are just so great, I love the shimmer and they dry so quickly. Since it's the base layer I could quickly spread a thick layer of Prima - Texture Paste - Platinum Crackle - 961527. I placed my 2Crafty chipboard in the paste so it functioned as an adhesive as well. Since the layer was so thick I let it all dry overnight.
The crackle really worked nicely and the blue still showed through it. I first misted the chippies with Prima - Color Bloom - Cobalt - 573898, dabbing the excess of, once dried I also misted it with the Shimmerz - Vibez - Palm Reader letting some of the residue dry up. It gives a whole mixture of colors.
The edges of the tag I dry-brush with Prima - Art alchemy - Acrylic Paint Metallique Steampunk Copper - 963064 with an extra layer of Tim Holtz - Distress Ink - Vintage Photo. I gave the chipies an extra bit of zing with Prima - Rub on Foil - Bora Bora - 585655. I put some of glue here and there and rub the foil over it and it stuck here and there. I like that grungy look.
Now that I have that part done I added 2 pieces of moulding. I made them with the Prima - IOD - Baroque 6 - 814823. I first painted it with Prima - Art Alchemy - Acrylic Paint Opal Magic Blue Gold - 963675 and dry brushed it with Prima - Art alchemy - Acrylic Paint Metallique Steampunk Copper - 963064. I glued it to the tag offset from each other.
Now it's time for adding some flowers. Prima - Kindled - Lush - 581428, Prima - French Riviera Flowers - 586218 and Prima - French Riviera Flowers - 586218. Putting some Prima string through the flowers. A final splatter with 13@rts mist and a couple of diamontes and the tag is all done.
I hope you like the project!
Thank you for checking in!

Hi,
I hope this post finds you well. I'm here to share with you two layouts I created with the beautiful Riddersholm Design collection called Barn Market. The first one is called Sweet.
This paper (Remember) inspired me an unusual color combo. I chose the Rolling in the Hay and Deep Blue Sea Vibez, which I applied with a brush. I also used 13@rts Black Splash Ink and some white paint to make some drops on the background.
On my background, for texture, I used the 13@rts stencil called Tattered Grid with some modeling paste. I love when the modeling paste adds interest all around my main cluster.
I matted my picture with a piece of the Husked paper. To embellish, I used some wood embellishments from Royal Menagerie (Prima) and, amongst the flowers, some of the beautiful Vintage Emporium flowers from Prima. Finally, my title piece is a chipboard word from the Dream set from Scrapiniec.
My second layout is called Forever. Here it is.
I used the beautiful Blackboard paper as my background. To mat my picture, I used the Husked paper.
My composition is based on the Flourish #1 stencil from Donna Downey which I used with modeling paste. I ended up covering most of it, but we still can see the end of it at the bottom of my layout. To add more texture, I used the Always Remember Music stencil from 13@rts with modeling paste.
I added some stamping with the Prima Wood Lines and Doorway stamps and black Archival Ink.
A bunch of flowers, some die cut leaves and some Jeni B Bleu Vibez to paint around my composition and everything came into shape. I also used some 13@rts black Splash Ink to make some drops.
My title is from Scrapiniec. I embossed it.
I hope my layouts inspire you.
Have a nice day.

Today I am sharing a BAP (Build A Page) Layout using the Flying Unicorn May Kit of the Month. Lots of photos today.
I used the Authentique Explore collection and the Prima French Rivera 6x6.
I started out applying a coat of clear gesso. I find it works well if you plan on using a lot of media.
I found the photo I wanted to scrap, and now it is getting the background to work with the photo.
It time to play with the background. I picked a bunch of stamps and some stencils to play with.
I started with the Bo Bunny Stamp Stitches Stamp and the French Riviera Background stamp.
I used some Molding Paste to add some texture to sporadically on background.
Now time for some splatters. I used long toothpicks to achieve my look that I want.
I picked a bunch of the French Riviera Collection to help make layering and some dimension to the composition.
I thought in needed a little something on the background so I added some twine that came in the kit. And now let the layering begin.
Enjoy the close-ups.
I used some fun adornments from the kit. Love the nautical theme.
I hope you enjoyed the process. For more inspiration check out the Flying Unicorn forum.

Prima Bloom Sprays Summer Sky, Tea Stain
Use a mask to stencil on gold masking paste. I used TCW's Tile Texture Mask (12 x 12) and Studio 490 gold embossing paste.
Here's how the paper looked after removing the mask. The effect is subtle but pretty and as the paste dries the gold takes on a really shiny metallic look.
Use border punches to punch around the two larger rectangles. I used Martha Stewart Deco Flowers and Cherish. Use whatever punches you have or leave plain. Ink the edges with gold ink or paint. I used gold StazOn.

Hi everyone!!
Today I am sharing the Off The Page Project from the May Your Passion Your Art Kit. I absolutely love the seahorse by Barenaked Crafts!!! I loved it so much, that I had a hard time narrowing down, exactly what I was going to do with it! In the end, I decided that I had to allow the natural indentations in the piece, to my advantage.
I absolutely love that those indentations are holding in the easy peasy glazing solution I used.
Here's a pic of the entire piece....
I also have a video for you.......
Hope you enjoyed!!

Hello.
Jennifer Snyder here to share a piece I made using the Flying Unicorn May "Your Passion Your Art" kit , brimming with Prima, Authentique and amazing embellishments.
The kit came with wonderful coordinating embellishments that make the finishing touches just perfect.
I painted all the chipboard pieces with cream colored acrylic paint. Next, I coated the "Formal Flourish 1" and "Cheryl's Floral Frame Set" with Vintage Ivory embossing powder. This has tiny flecks of gold in it for a cool effect and bits of vintage elegance.
The "Chicken Wire" chipboard was left just painted.
It's finally here...the May kit from the Flying Unicorns.
Jennifer Snyder here to rave about the wonderful amazing jammed packed kit. Filled with Prima products and Authentique, Prima's French Riviera Collection by Frank Garcia, and a heaping big box of coordinating embellishments. Let's not forget the mixed media included and the coolest paper mache seahorse I ever did see.
For my projects, I focused on the French Riviera collection. The coordinating embellishments from the Frank Garcia's French Riviera collection are spectacular so I created this soft vintage feeling card focused around the Prima French Riviera Chipboard that came in the kit. No special occasion on this card - maybe just to frame.
I had some darling dies from Joy Craft - the sweet little scallop shell and starfish. I cut them, and gently inked them.
I topped the card with a gorgeous decorative Prima French Riviera Brad.
