A big hello to all of our Flying Unicorn friends around the world.
Today I am sharing with you a little creativity using this month's canvas which came in the kit.
A canvas that is a canvas no more.
Start off removing all of that canvas fabric - rip it off, you don't need to be gentle, as long you remove it all.
Now grab your tub of gesso and lather it all over the wooden frame - allow it to dry.
Now apply another coat of gesso and let that dry as well.
Open up that gorgeous pink acrylic paint and you are about to get dirty fingers - you are going to start finger painting. Truly - this paint is so easy to apply using your finger tips. I let mine air dry and it is so quick to dry. It was amazing really the drying time.
I then randomly applied a little adhesive and using a sheet of the gold film I rubbed my finger along the frame leaving traces of gold on the frame. I then left the frame to dry.
Grabbing a tub of gesso [from my stash] and a paint brush I randomly dry brushed a little gesso around the wooden frame.
While I was still in finger painting mode I painted two of the wee white tags and left them to dry. I wasn't overly particular. I just finger painted.
Trim one of the tags to 2 inches in length and then use a round corner punch.
I then used a black Staz On ink pad and the stamp that came in the kit and stamped a portion of the image on my tag.
I stamped a butterfly image [butterfly stamp was in my stash] on the second painted tag and cut around the stamp image.
I also cut two feathers from black cardstock and trimmed them back a little.
Find your metal butterfly that came in the kit and cover it in gesso and wait for it to dry, then using your finger tips again, apply some of that gorgeous pink paint and wait for it to dry.
Now it is time to assemble your embellishment cluster.
Tag on the bottom, metal butterfly and your stamped image on the top.
Apply a little gesso around the edges of each level of your embellishment cluster.
Choose a piece of chipboard - on this project you can see that I used the word 'Art'.
You guessed it - finger painting again with the pink paint, dry, a little liquid glue, a little finger rubbing on that gold film, a little gesso and then I dribbled a little of the black ink from the bottle on to a piece of paper, dripped my paint brush and dragged my paint brush ever so lightly over the word.
Screw a hook into your frame [from my stash] and hang your embellished tag and then using a little liquid adhesive, apply the chipboard word to your frame.
and from a different angle
Congratulations, you have just made a piece of 'Art'.
I hope you enjoyed my tutorial.
Happy creating everyone.
