April KOM BAP~ Tammy

Hi guys! Glad you are here today to join me with April KOM BAP!! I used items from all 4 kits. I also hope to show you how wonderful the black pages are to use. So lets get started shall we?!

This first part I am going to walk you through the prep work of the pieces I used to make the LO.

Circle Fabscrap frame in the Main KOM Prep work.

1st I cut the Largest frame. Not in half equally, because of the design I wanted a larger piece (where my photo was going to go) and a smaller piece at the bottom to have the eye follow through my whole LO. I used my ruler as a guide then marked my spot with a pencil and cut it with my scissors.

2nd I gesso both of the halves and mist them. On the misting I wanted it light with multiple colors so after I misted I blotted with a paper towel. I only wanted faint colors. I used Lindy's Bodacious Blush, and Shimmerz Vibez Jenni B Bleu.

Step 3. I then add in a script stamp (Creative Embellishments) and stamp the circles. Note: I am working with my pieces as they would lay on my LO. This way everything is flowing in the same direction.

Step 4. Then I used the piece I had left over of the 7 Dots "As it was before". This was used as a layer below my circle both top and bottom. I traced on the outside inner edge of each piece to give me cut lines. then cut it out with my scissors. I wanted the loops to remain open and not covered. I then glued the paper to the pieces and edged with my Prima little inker in black coal.

Prep work other pieces..

Frames, You are basically do them the same as the circle frame. With the exception of embossing and no stamping. I gesso them, then embossed them after the gesso was dry. I used my Vagabond to do this. The embossing plate is from Cuttlebug Demask. Did the same step with the misting. Then added just a touch of Viva gold. Not a lot just highlighting the raised areas. I also added some of the edging with the Prima little inker in black coal for this as well. After they was dry I then picked out sections of the same paper that I used for the circle and cut to size then glued them. I forgot to take a pic of this part.

Prep work Tags, Butterflies and flower.

On the tags that I used I covered them with paper, then added a Flying Unicorn adornment bird cage that came in the kit on one of them. Then I used the small brads that came in the kit as well. Inked the edges with the little inker in black coal also.

The Butterflies I used the Prima small roses and placed them in the middle of each. Then I gesso all the wings. The reason I gesso them before I applied to the LO is I am working with black paper. I didn't want gesso in some of the areas that was black so the butterflies would pop better.

Bo Bunny flower I cut it in half at a angle so it would fit behind my photo.

Picture Prep

I cut a piece that would go behind my picture and added some foam tape to pop it up. As well as inked the edges of the photo and paper that I used. Also my title piece.

Now we are ready to build the LO.

Step 1. I used the 7 Dots Lonely Evenings black side. Using Gesso I kinda did a hourglass shape but the bottom a little lower. I did this just using a credit card swiping back and forth.

Step 2.

I used the beautiful mask that came in the kit. I laid it in the center. And applied molding paste so that I only went out side the gesso area barely. Just enough so that you can see the vines. I repeated this step at the top and bottom of the page. The mask isn't a 12x12.

Step 3.
I then took the little inker in Black Coal and went around the edges of my page and lightly across the raised areas of the masking. This helps with a more unified look.

Step 4.
Sorry this pic is a little blurry.. I then take my circle pieces attach them along with my photo and 1 half of the flower that I cut in half. Just barely tucking in the flower under the photo. I also curled the top right corner of the paper.

Step 5.

I now take the frames and attach them along with my title at the top. At the bottom I create a cluster with the Frame a tag and some of the flowers. I use the other half of the cut flower on the lower part.

Step 6.
Now I take selected flowers Bo Bunny, Prima and creating a sweeping look stager them to almost meet the lower circle. Gradually going from left to right. I also place my tag that I created with some foam tape so it sits just barely covering the frame below. Tucking flowers around it as well.

Step 7.
I now place the other 2 butterflies and lightly gesso the flowers and just a little on the tag with the bird cage as well. Creating unity still to the piece.

Step 8.
Now I have all pieces glued down. I play a little with the Shimmers Vibes Jenni B Bleu. Going from top to bottom. I mist a little, the bottle started to puddle a little around the top as I was misting. So I just went with it and let it drip in areas down my page. You can also accomplish this with a paint brush. Just be sure you cover your photo with something so it doesn't get on it. I used one of the flower packaging.

Step 9.

This last part I used the Shimmerz Royal purple and paint as tho a purple water fall is coming from behind the circle frame at the top. I also add in a few drips with it. Going from top to bottom, staying on the gesso covered areas to meet the lower part. I kinda thought how it would look for it to puddle around the lower piece and painted it in that fashion. I also used a paint brush that the bristles kinda fluff outwards and dabbed gesso in select areas. I thought it kinda looked like babies breath flowers..
