It's my turn to share one of my Flying Unicorn creations today and as you can see I've whipped up a canvas, aptly titled 'dream'.
A dream of mine for many years to one day see, in real life, the Eiffel Tower.
Let me share my creative process for putting this canvas together and trust me on this one, it's not difficult.
Let's go ... I've liberally applied gesso all over the front of my canvas and even splatted a little along the sides of the canvas as well.
I could say that I strategically placed cos it sounds better, but I didn't really, I really did 'splat'. I've torn pieces of paper from a 6x6 paper pad and for this canvas I have used a selection of papers from the Authentique 'Cherish' paper pad.
Using a little more of that gesso underneath and over the top of those torn papers to adhere everything.
Now it's a case of watching and waiting for it all to dry.
In my case, my patience is ummmmmmmmmmmm perhaps a little lacking, so I grabbed my heat gun and went to work.
When you are wanting to play a little and dabble with gesso and pastes and inks, who wants to sit and wait for everything to dry, come on, let's be honest. We want to play and we want to play now. Sounds good to me. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
I've then grabbed my clock stencil and modeling paste and randomly applied clock shapes and I have to say, I did actually let this dry naturally, just for a change.
Next up a few squirts using the Fireworks mists ... OMG, these wee bottles are so adorable.
On this canvas I've used Angel Pink and Bamboo Leaves and I love them both together. That heat gun had another work out ... had to keep everything flowing girls ... as you do.
I've then used a Kaisercraft acrylic stamp and randomly stamped the image here and there over the top of my canvas. And I truly do mean that ... definitely random!!! Random is good.
I've pulled together a collection of embellishments and some more papers and then I've layered and layered and layered some more.
Before I started 'sticking' everything down I decided I needed to add a little something else and so I used a little of the sticky mesh that has been around for years, no idea what it is called and I've applied a little more modeling paste here and there on some of my paper layers.
Then I went for it with the hot glue gun and liberally applied hot glue to hold everything together and as you can see, I've tucked in a few baubles here and there [well you will see them later on the close ups]. I like to add bitsers of this and that.
The Petaloo flowers I've used were originally white, but I've snaffled a paint brush and dabbed more of the Angel Pink mist over the top and then with my finger I've dabbed on a little more modeling paste here and there.
Last but not least, I found a piece of rub on with the word 'dream' and ta da ... one 'dream' canvas done and dusted.
and some close ups of the completed canvas ...
