Kit of the Month layouts - Kelly

Hi everyone! Kelly here, to share some layouts I created using the January KOM - Carpe Diem. January has been a really fun month on the forums, and we introduced the new Art Journaling Challenge. For me, and for many others, this is a new thing. I, for one, have never done any sort of art journaling, and do not at this time own a journal that can be used for it. But I was SO inspired by all of our members, and the CT who are having fun with the free play that art journaling has to offer. I decided to take that inspiration, and translate it into a layout! So, I got out my KOM, mostly the scraps, and set to work...layering, masking, painting, misting, doodling, piling, smooshing...and here is what I got!

Approaching a layout from this perspective was so freeing! I had no particular design or outcome in mind, I just went to work! And while this may not be my favorite or the most beautiful page, it was definitely a lot of fun!! Check out the close ups..

I really love the Studio Calico mask that came in the kit, and used it all over this page.

Here and there you will see some hole punch- circles that I scattered throughout my background for great texture.

I also added glass beads, tissue paper, and metal embellishments from my stash.

Here are a few more of my pages with this kit..all so different, that is my favorite part about Flying Unicorn's kits, is the huge variety and versatility.
