Good morning!!! I hope this Sunday finds you well!
I am here to remind you that all Christmas items are 20% off right now in the Flying Unicorn Store!!! Perfect timing to get all the Christmas goodies before the December craziness hits, right?!
I was so excited to be able to work with Teresa Collins' Christmas Cottage, one of my very favorite Christmas collections. I just love TC's papers, heavy weight, great texture, rich colors and classic yet trendy patterns!!
I made two OTP projects with this collection (strange for me, I know!).
The first one is this altered Christmas tree, a decor piece I bought on clearance a few years ago, thinking I'd use it, but let's face it, it is pretty ugly. The colors were just too bright and the "peace" written all over was obnoxious, lol! So I decided to make it suit my home better.
Here is the tree before:
I measured and cut strips of the papers to fit each wood slat on the tree. I inked them up a bit with a Prima Chalk Ink in Dark Rust from the store, then sanded them a bit and glued them on. I decorated a bit with Prima and Manor House flowers and jewels. Then I painted a bit with gesso and smeared on some silver Stickles for some sparkle. Here is how it came out:
The large flower below is from the November kit, misted to match.
Much improved, don't you think?
Ok, my next project is a 12x12 collage canvas I created, my first one!
I used lots of the die cuts from the collection, and some fussy cut bits from the patterned papers. My background was created using various masks, lots of gesso and mod podge, glass beads, strips of paper from the collection, and more.
The chipboard title, tree, and flower are from my 2Crafty stash, the ribbon and flower are Green Tara. That gorgeous jewel medallion below is Teresa Collins as well, and can be found in the store, here.
Well, that's all for me!
Thanks for stopping by today!!!! Have a good one!!!!
