This week its all about flowers and layouts! The Flying Unicorn and Manor House Creations have teamed together to bring you four week long challenges featuring, what else, flowers! Check out this week's Flower Fantasy challenge in the Forums here, May Flower Fantasy.
Hi everyone! Laura here! Before becoming a creative team member here at the Unicorn I will admit that I had never heard of 7dots.....oh man am I glad I found the Unicorn. WOW! 7 dots paper is fabulous! Great feel and weight, fabulous design and an overall terrific paper!

My first layout I did, I got messy....I LOVE GETTING MESSY!
I did a lot of inking and painting and wet embossing on this one! I used the 7 dots Dreamer Collection
For the cool chipboard gears (available at the store from Dusty Attic - mini cogs) grungeboard and wood shapes (from my stash) I was inspired by Alda....I mixed some glitter in with my embossing powder and embossed them! Then I took some Ranger Distress crackle paint - Shabby Shutters and dry brushed them.
I cut a piece of cardboard and painted them black, when dry I used the embossing powder/glitter mix and embossed on that as well...I then added a some of the ranger paint and a few acrylics from my stash
I used a template I had and inked heavily using a make up sponge. I then punched holes using different sizes of hole punches. Of course I also inked and distressed all the edges.
My next layout I used the same paper line - Dreamer and I got messy again!
I inked all the outside edges and used paint to 'mat' the photo
I inked the cogs and other embellishments with red and black ink
and I punched two different papers to add some more interest
I was also lucky enough to receive the All I Ever Collection also from 7 dots...
This is more soft line and I wanted to play on the beautiful colors. I cut the frame out of the 'soft blanket' paper then used foam dots for dimension...I also used beautiful Petaloo flowers and punched butterflies and a few flowers from my stash....

Hi! Tracey here! I am excited to show you my creation made with the fabulous 7 Dots Wonderland papers and embellishments. I love the saturated colors and designs-each paper has a lighter version on the opposite side to add to the versatality. I added Ranger glossy and crackle and lots of distress inks to highlight the textures in the paper. I traced the dove and cut it from the leftover paper and attached it with foam dots. I used Maggi's cool sketch-thanks,Maggi! The striking photo was taken by my young photographer friend, Heidi Shartrand and is available through "Nothing Fades Photography" on Facebook. She is extremely talented! The lyrics are from Jeremy Camp's song,"There Will Be A Day".
Now in my mind, there is nothing in this world any cuter than a sweet sweet puppy! Oh yeah, now you know it's Maggi posting today!
Meet Jezebel at the very sweet age of 6 weeks. She grew to nearly 100 lbs! She was a Rhodesian Ridgeback and just the sweetest girl ever! Oh she was a horrible puppy, chewed everything! But after much perseverance and work, she turned into a wonderful adult dog that was loved by many! She had a storied life, she went fishing with my husband at the time who was a commercial fisherman. She learned to climb up ladder like steps to the wheel house on the boat. They stayed out at sea for a couple of weeks at the time so she was quite a seadog. It's funny though, she hated the water!
I made this layout using the gorgeous Scrapcake My Private Happiness collection. The flowers and vine are Petaloo. You can get the paper and flowers in the Flying Unicorn Store too. These flowers are beautiful with this collection. I stained the lace (from the April KOM) with Lindy's Tibetan Poppy Teal.
I diecut the letters from a blue sheet of Core'dinations whitewash cardstock using old Lollipop Sizzix dies. Then I dabbed on some Lindy's Tibetan Poppy Teal mist. (I purchased alot of my Lindy's mists with dabber caps rather than spray caps, I love them, so much neater and not as much waste.) The pearls are from the April KOM also. The quotes are from a set of vellum stickers that I've had for years, no idea who the mfg was but I'm sure they came from Hobby Lobby.
I just did some light distressing on this layout and then inked with Distress Black soot. The white circle is punched with MS Deco Fans corner punch, one of my favorite techniques and I think Deco Fans is my favorite MS punch.
I popped up the letters to give them some dimension, try this, it'll make your flat letters look more like chipboard.
Hi everyone, Shona here with a layout today featuring all new goodies in the store here! I have used the Songbird Prima collection, my Prima distress tool, Prima chalk ink, liquid pearls, a Prima stamp, glimmer mists and Dusty Attic chipboard pieces...all available at the Flying Unicorn store. I have also used a sketch from SOUS for my layout. The photo is my daughter and son in law this month when we did a trip to the beach.
I am loving all the new Prima collections with the awesome coordinating embellishments, it makes creating a layout just that much simpler when there is so much from one collection to work with.
Here you can see all the punch work and stamping that I did around the edges. I love the corner chippys from DA. I have painted them white first, than added some glimmer mists and liquid pearls to them. I also added a hidden journaling tag to this layout.

Hi! Tracey here to continue this week's exploration of the diverisity of Ranger products. I decided to try making a canvas using Ranger's matte finish Glue n' Seal, crackle paint, liquid pearls and tissue tape. I LOVE the way the glue and seal blends the papers so seamlessly into each ther without the "bubbling" that other products are prone to do. I used lots of distress inks,Holtz masks and various Timmy goods as well and had fun with this.
Happy Hello Scrappers! Today I bring to you some wonderful fun techniques using Ranger products. I used "Liquid Pearls" throughout my layout adding just the right touch of bling. I painted the "Dusty Attic" chipboard with (Shabby Shutter) "Distress Crackle Paint". I went over the cracks with "Tim Holtz" distress ink. I cut and shaped the "Dusty Attic" frame around the photo. Lastly I added "Liquid Pearls" to the chipboard. I added "Glue N Seal" throughout and sprinkled on some glitter. These wonderful products can be found in the online store!
I added "Distress Crackle Paint" to the leaves throughout the layout.

Hey everyone! Hope everyone's Tuesday is awesome! I have been playing around with Ranger and have found some really cool techniques to share. I have had Ranger products for a while and have often played around with the distressing stains ink pads and dobbers. I didn't realize the possibilities that could be achieved and much more. My journey started with the liquid Pearl line. I have seen the dots created with them and wanted to see if anything else was possible. I found many really cool techniques to do on you tube. With no other than the master himself Tim Holtz! It was like I had a tutor all to myself!! Now I am going to take you threw everything technique that I played with a piece at a time and explain! Most everything that I used can be found at the Flying Unicorn store. Ok lets get started!
With the Distress Stains I colored seam binding. I didn't use any on the lace it was already nicely colored, that was from one of our members Cathi. Thank you Cathi love the lace! I found this to be extremely quick and easy to do! It dries super fast! I seen TH do this and thought to myself I love using seam binding on my projects! I blended different colors on one of the pieces. I used "Spun Sugar", "Broken China" and "Walnut". I fought with the urge not to use the distressed piece but my dd said that it really looked good with the project. So I used it and glad that I did! Next Item..
On this part I played with the Crackle Paints. I found out that when they crack they will reveal the color that is being used. So this is where the Distress Stains come into play. On another note, if you use the Distress stains on your BG the crackle paint will absorb the color that you used. It re wets the stain and activates it again. When I saw that did this with the "walnut" and didn't look really well at all. I used the "Broken China" and "Spun Sugar" to level out the tones. The Color of the Crackle Paint that I used was "Tattered Rose". I really liked it more when I started adding those other colors in. It really made a difference to the end result.
This is what the BG looked like before I added the Crackle Paint. You get a more blended look if you re wet them after they are applied. When TH did this it must have been on a different paper than I used. I used Plain CS to do this on. I think his was more like Photo paper. On his it puddled up when he misted it with water. Doesn't do that on plain CS just blends together better. No harsh lines.
The above image You can see where I used the Crackle paint again and in behind that is a new item that I played with, Tissue tape! I really liked using that tape! Didn't think I would to be honest but it is really detailed and fun to color too! There is a lot on a roll!! Which is nice for experimenting with!! I colored mine with the "Broken China" Distress Stain. TH shows that you can die cut it after you apply it to CS. It looks really cool! Love, love the look! I also took the Crackle Paint and covered up some of it too.. Works wonderfully! Now for the Liquid Pearls!!
I found that you not only can use them for those cool dots, but you can also paint with them! I embossed the above butterfly (Kaizercraft Bonjor collection stamps. One of my faves!!) with some black embossing powder on plain white CS and on the bird I embossed with brown embossing powder and colored it as well (From the same collection as mentioned above). Then squirted some out on my splat mat and painted it. You can also just mist a little water on it and lighten the color up. I did this on another project that I did, that I am going to show you. Added dots here and there. I also added them on the swirls and lace too! Now for my whole tag!
I was going for the grungy look, but think I got Shabby Chic instead! LOL I Also did a LO using all the techniques mention above. It was super fun to do! Love using all these cool products to play with on my projects! Love them even more now that I know what they do before I use them! LOL Now for that LO! I used the Shona's sketch. You have got to check out Laura's challenge and give this awesome sketch ago!
I used TH Idea-ology "Shabby Chic" PP to do this LO. Flowers used was MH and Flying Unicorn little roses that I put some Lindy's "Winter Jasmine Gold" on to make them yellow. I also used my Distress Stain "Walnut" in the center of the blue MH Flowers called "Sparkles-blue" and also some Gesso on the outsides of them to tone the color down a little and also match my project. The Branch I used is a Prima branch. The title is a CTMH Stamp and Butterflies are PinkPaislee "Butterfly Garden" and CTMH "Large on in center and small one at bottom right". The Swirls are also CTMH. Gonna put some close ups of this LO for you so you can see all the techniques better.

With this layout I used the ranger crackle paint on the doily I had in my stash...I had never tried that before and it worked the way I had hoped! distressed, aged and cool! I also added the paint to the chipboard rocking horse and to some chipboard letters I had in my stash. I used the baby blue liquid pearls as an accent and to create a flourish. The magnificent papers I used are also from the Unicorn store, the Little Darling Collection from Graphic 45

I also created a mothers day card for my mom using the Bright Side Of Life papers from Scrapcake and of course the fabulous Ranger liquid pearls
I also created another card for my mom for her birthday.....the beautiful scrapcake papers and the fabulous ranger products helped make this card....I used the blue perfect pearls as highlights and I fussy cut the 'lattice' out of the scrapcake papers and used foam dots for dimension. I also used the perfect pearls then used glimmer mist on the flower. I used my cricut to cut the shape.

I love Sunday's because the sun is out, the skies are blue, and the Almanac yumminess is on the table! What Almanac you ask? Well the new Prima Almanac, available in the Flying Unicorn Store of course! This line is so versatile and beautiful, I decided to make some tags today, let me share them with you!
Love this, I used some Tattered Rose Distress Ink to match the colors on the papers, some liquid pearls in Bisque all available in the store I also used some twine, and crochet lace, here are some closeups!
Here is the second tag I made using some Prima packaging, always upcycling! Love it!
The flowers are also made from the packaging, sweet stuff eh? Loved making these, so be sure to stop by the Flying Unicorn Store and get your own Prima Almanac papers, they are so wonderful and so versatile for any project!!

Happy Saturday! Hopefully today is a scrappy day for you and your mojo is flowing strong! I shared a little of my journal with you earlier and today I want to show it all to you in its finished state.
I am using this journal to keep my scrappy world organized. Yeah, I’m a organization freak, I make lists and more lists, my scraproom is never a total mess, I have to be in control of these things at all time! Being on a Creative Team sounds all glamorous and fun, and it TOTALLY is, but with all that fun goes a lot of work. We have projects to complete, deadlines to meet, and always plans to make to keep you, our awesome members, interested and excited about the happenings at the Flying Unicorn! To help keep me organized, Ialtered a standard 3 ring binder. The one I chose is a 1” 3 ring binder that has a clear plastic overlay on the front and back of the binder so that I can slip a page under the plastic. Let’s begin with the front and back covers.
Front: I used Creative Imaginations IOD Devotion to make this page, this is one of my most favorite ever paper lines, well of course it is, its red, black and ivory!! The image is an awesome greeting card for Anne Taintor Inc that I found while on a scrappy retreat in Ohio. I just love the inscription on her dress! I stickled some ScrapFX chippy flowers and added black centers and scattered them amongst the printed flowers. I fussy cut the left side of this LO from Devotion wave and layered in other papers from the Devotion collection.
The back again features a greeting card image from Anne Taintor Inc. I thought the inscription was appropriate for scrapping. It sums up my thoughts on having a scrappy budget!!! I used a mix of Creative Imaginations IOD Prevencial and Devotion papers, that yummy yellow and purple flowers are Manor House Taneisha and Country Lane Charm, and the small wine colored flowers are Petaloo. I also used ScrapFX Funky Flowers, they are the dark red chippies on the Dusty Attic corner flourishes that I painted white.
I also used some floral stickers from the IOD Devotion collection. I love the look of the stickers combined with the Manor House flowers and ScrapFX chippies. Here’s a closeup:
Now for the divider pages, I purchased standard notebook dividers that have tabs on them. I made my layouts so that they were the exact same size as the divider pages. Then I decided that I really wanted the layouts to be protected so I bought some 8 1/5 x 11 scrapbook page covers at Michaels. They are really inexpensive if you catch them on sale or use a coupon. You will need to trim the left side off the page covers, this is the side that has the punched holes. Then you will need to carefully line up your divider with the page cover and mark where the tab will be on the page cover. Using your craft knife, cut a slit large enough to slip the tab through. In this picture you can see that I have trimmed off the left side and lined up the tab.
I found that it was not necessary to adhere my layout to the tabbed divider page, just slip it down into the page protector. If you decide not to use the page protectors then you will need to adhere your layout to the divider page. I also found that it works better to punch holes in your layout AFTER you have slipped it into the page protector, that way your holes will be lined up perfectly.
Here are some of the layouts I used in my divider pages. I used the March KOM for these pages, it’s a mix of Inkido, Kanban and BasicGrey papers
This page features Kanban with some BasicGrey and Inkido mixed in – all from the March KOM. The dressform chippy is from Fabscraps.
This page was done with Scrapcake One Moment in Time collection. That gorgeous butterfly is from Donna, thank you so much, it was perfect for this page. The image again is from from Anne Taintor Inc. The Dusty Attic is colored with Glimmer Mist in walnut gold. The flowers are layered hydrangeas from the April kit.
If you need a journal, give this a try. It would make a great gift for a student or a friend. I love that its so versatile and organized! You can have as many or as few tabbed pages as you need. Right now I have four, To do list, challenges, calendar and SHOPPING LIST (most important!!) and I have room to add more dividers if I need them.

Denise here with a "Flashback Friday" LO to share!
This layout is one that I did in August of last year. It's a pic of my son and new grandson. It's one of my favorite pictures of those two. I'd love to share it with you and give you some details on some of the techniques I did on it.
I used Authentique Journey Collection, some Imaginarium Chipboard, Kaisercraft and Prima flowers. For the background, I started by cutting one sheet diagonally and embossed it thru my Big Shot. I also stamped the larger sheet using a Tim Holtz Stamp and a Prima brick wall stamp.
Alda always has such cool packaging with her products and I love to save them and re use them which I did with the birdcage. I used it for the background.
For the chippies, I used Copic markers on them and took a black marker to the leaves to give them a little something. When using markers on your chipboard, you can cover with Rock Candy to give it some shine or leave it as is for a more matte look.
I took a journal card from the Authentique collection and framed it with the chipboard frame. Again, using Copic markers and wrapped with ribbon. For the paper mat around the photo, I used a hole punch.

Hi there! Tracey here! To continue this week's highlighting of the beautiful Scrapcake papers, here is my layout of my cutie-pie niece,Vivien. These papers are from the My Private Happiness line and brought to life by oodles of pop-dots, Petaloo, Manor House, Prima and ZVA flowers. The butterflies are courtesy of Lisa Gregory. I coated the Dusty Attic music notes with white paint and lightly flocked them. Everything except for 3 recollection flowers can be found in the UNI store.

Hello everyone, Mandy here bringing you the lovely Scrapcake collection. (Listen to Your Heart) and (Do What You Love) are the papers I used on this layout. Delicious colors and beautifully coordinated papers make working with these papers a dream! I am so glad I was able to create using this line. It's such a gorgeous collection!!!
I painted the "Manor House" Flowers with Liquid Gold Leaf and used a variety of flowers that can be found at the online store (Flying Unicorn, Petaloo, Prima)! I added pink glitter througout the design to add some soft sparkle! Dusty Attic chipboard was painted and altered.
I painted Liquid Gold Leaf on the edges of the paper, cut work, doily to add a soft glow.
Pearls, trims and beads were added for a feminine touch.

The papers I worked with this week is from the "One Moment In Time" collection. Here is the LO that I did with this collection.
Fussy cutting, distressing, inking and layering. This papers are awesome at it all! They even have matching tags that you can used for journaling, title or just a little flare here and there. I used mine for the title and layered 2 together. I used a Manor house Flower the large pink one. The little white ones are Flying Unicorn. I also Used some ZVA Bling and some extra blooms in my stash. The Butterflies are Lisa Gregory's. The Large blue and white Lili's are my own. Details coming up soon on those. So stay tuned! ;) How about some close-ups?!
These tags matched a stamp that I have from CTMH and the saying fit this LO to the T! So It was a perfect fit! Next Close up..
Here is a close-up of the Yummy Manor house Lacey bloom! It is so beautiful and fit the girlie qualities I was looking for and clusters so very well with the other flowers too! Next close-up..
I don't know if you have ever tried this or not.. But You can take a clear button and some clear glue and make a little embellie to match your project. Just lay the button on the area of the PP that looks good to you. Draw a line around the button, fussy cut it out. Then Attach to your button with the glue. You might wanna sand the edges a bit to give a cleaner finish. On mine in the pic above I also added some thin ribbon and ran it through the wholes. This week I created a layout (using the mojo Monday sketch) and the awesome My Private Happiness Line....A bright, fun line with gorgeous colors and cheerful and beautiful designs

When I saw this line I fell in love.....and it begged me to fussy cut. I first fussy cut the corners out of the garden of kindness paper, then the circle frame from the Happiness is in the air paper, then the borders and strips out of the Borders paper and finally the title block from the Say something Nice paper. I followed the lovely Mojo Monday sketch from Alda, added a punched circle arounf the photo, some flowers from my stash and a charm my kiddo won from a vending machine, used foam dots and voila....

I had so much fun taht I also created a card for my sister in law's birthday....the papers are so gorgeous I made a simple card to let the papers shine
I rolled some paper to make the candles and then stuck in some string for the wick, did some fussy cutting and I have my card!

Hello! Tracey here! I wanted to share with you a layout I made with the new Prima products available at the UNI store. I love how all the die cuts and flowers go together so beautifully and easily with the gorgeous paper. The picture is of my daughter, Naomi. She is growing up so fast, at 11 she is ready to grow up much faster than I am ready to let her. The delicate butterfly is courtesy of Cathi O. I placed the Kaisercraft gate to represent me trying to hold her back in the childhood of fairies and such things for just a little while longer. I have private journaling tucked in the left hand corner for her. The silk grey flowers are Jolee and all the rest are Prima.
I used Ranger crackle on the Prima diecuts. I got playful with molding paste and my Prima mask and made the brick wall behind the photo. Then I sprayed Rustoleum stone finish on top of the paste and using Plaid stencils sprayed it in the corners as well. I love the texture it brings to the page.

Just sharing a Tim Holtz Canvas I did using some products from the Flying Unicorn Store. 7 Dots Wonderland, Crackle Paints, Distress Stains, and Mists to name a few!
I got the canvas at my LSS and have been waiting for the right mojo to come along to work on it. I really didn't want to go too overboard on it as I love the look of it already. So using some Timmy techniques from his new book, I came up with this.
I used one of his Distress Stain techniques using Peeled Paint, Fired Brick and Wild Honey. And basically you wet your background first with water in your mini mister, swipe on your colors and while drying with your heat gun, misting with water as you go to blend the colors.
The other technique I used was on the Grungeboard butterfly. You cover the grungeboard with Rock Candy and let dry. Using your Distress stains dab colors throughout letting the stains seep into the crackle. Wait a few seconds and after it seeps in..use your heat gun to dry. This is the effect you will get..pretty cool huh?
I pretty much did that same technique on my Fabscraps Bird cage chippie..but it works much better on grungeboard. I then swiped some Crackle Paint on top of it to grunge it up a bit.
I used lots of stains and Crackle paints on this canvas and a few mists of Glimmer Mist as well. Here are some close ups

Hi there, it's Mandy here bringing you two creations (layout, card) from "Creative Imaginations" Devotion Collection. The layout was created using browns, pale blues and aquas. I painted two "Manor House" flowers with chocolate "Ranger Ink" color wash both can be purchased at the online store! I used a variety of flowers on both projects: Manor House, Flying Unicorn, Prima. Hey all! Got some projects to share with you today! Hope your week is going well! I have had a extremely fun time playing with Creative Imaginations "Provencial" collection! This PP was totally meant for fussy cutting! I have used it down to the scraps are scraps and I'm not kidding either! LOL These are available in the Flying Unicorn Store, So be sure to pic some up!! This is of my DD on a recent photo shoot. We had a good time that day and I got this awesome pic to scrap! Other products that I used was Glitz paper Layers " Laced with Grace" and " Vintage Blue". For my flowers I used Prima, Petaloo and 1 Flower that I colored to match bought from a SS.. Doilies are walley world and ZVA bling too! I also have a Cameo that I used from my stash. Most all of the flowers you can find in the Flying Unicorn store. Here are a few close ups.
I so loved fussy cutting all the yummy flowers and elements in this PP! So very beautiful! I gave most of them a gental lift with some foam squares. Here is a couple more close ups..
I inked the edges of all the pieces with some TH distress ink "Walnut" as well as the PP before and after distressing them. One last close up then on to my Cards..
This PP even has beautiful Butterflies that you can cut out. It basically has it all to me!! LOL Now for my cards that I made. I made 2 that I plan on giving my DM and my MIL for Mothers Day. This Paper was perfect for that! Here they both are...
Used some stamps that I had from Kaizercraft, CTMH and Tattered Angels. I also used some Flying Unicorn little roses and 1 Prima flower on each. I used a MS punch on the second one. The Butterflies on these cards came from a recent file that Alda added to the Files section of the Forums. Big Hugs Alda for that! Here is the Link to get ya there. This week we are featuring the charming Creative Imaginations! I was lucky enough to receive some papers from their delectable devotion line! This is such a impressive line with luxurious and understated but not pastel colors and lush & beautiful designs. My first layout I went a little border punch happy! lol! I cut my papers to the size I wanted then used my punch around the page. It wasn't perfect but its ok....scrapbooking isn't perfect! I fussy cutted the butterflies out of Wings paper and made some flowers from the leftovers! I also used a Melissa Francis resin available at the store!

My second project I took a more simple approach and let the red pop of colour bring the readers attention to the fabulous photo (taken by my BFF Michelle) I created a banner, sprayed some old chipboard with red velvet and sand glimmer mist available at the unicorn store and did a little paper folding to create the visual triangle!

Have I told you yet how much I LOVE this kit?? LOL, I love the diversity of the kit, the soft romantic colors paired with the masculine burlap look papers from Glitz, makes for such a great kit that has so many possibilites. I have done 9 layouts with this kit!! Here is my latest layout.
This is the 3rd layout I've done with the Glitz French Kiss and Pretty in Pink papers. Have to say that French Kiss is one of my favorite paperlines from CHA winter 2012. I made the rosettes, I love using those on a masculine page. One thing to note, you do not need the mini rosette die to make smaller rosettes, simply trim off part of the diecut from the straight edge side and cut off a few segments and presto, you have a mini rosette. They look great stacked as I have done here on two of the rosettes. I love that look! The Dusty Attic piece and Petaloo Cantebury vine spray are from my stash as are the key, wheel and button. Everything else is from the kit. I cut the letters from cardstock and popped them up to give them a stronger appearance. I bundled up some string to make the string bow, I like how that looks! Oh gosh, I almost forgot the most important thing!!! I used that FABULOUS sketch of Shona's to make this LO!!!

I really love this LO, for me it really conveys the essence of the south long ago. I loved pairing the paper with some real burlap to ad some great texture to the layout. The letters that came in the kit are really great but they were just a little too shiny for what I wanted. So here's a great way to alter letters and give them a unique appearance. I simply took my sanding block and "hit" the letters with it randomly here and there so that they would be scuffed up. Then I took Distress Walnut Stain ink and inked the scratches made by the sand paper. I love how they turned out.

The Kit Of The Month reveal is always my favorite part of the month. I am always happy and excited to share with you the creations I made with the amazing kits that our dear Alda puts together. This April kit I must say was my favorite yet. The kit included wonderful Spring colors while combining perfectly vintage papers from Glitz, French Kiss, which was amazing to work with. Sit back and sip your coffee or tea there is a lot of yummy pictures ahead!
This is a new layout I was saving to share with you all, I LOVE this one, the papers from Glitz of course are to DIE for!! So perfectly beautiful and perfect to distress! I loved the little picket fence, it was so unique and fun to work with. I painted mine gold, for it to combine with the layout, did lots of distressing too. Here are some close ups:
The second layout was also a fave, I loved working with neutral colors this month, and these papers were perfect, the Ruby Rocket August Moon papers were also perfect for this neutral effect.
Of course not all of them had to be neutral, I also loved working with the Fabscraps Organic Collection, wow what beautiful papers, truly exquisite colors and super fun to work with. Take a look.
Yes, I added that beautiful nest onto the layout, it was a MUST!!! I loved it so much! It is truly the PERFECT embellishment, its EXTREME! Like Me!!!! Here are some close ups!
OK, lets take a layout break for a little, I also made a MINI! Oh ya! There is so much in this kit, its so amazing, I made a lovely Spring Mini, and I called it Lucky, because its so vibrant and beautiful, there was so many lovely flowers on this kit, wow, I used the musical paper from Ruby Rocket to make this one take a look
Isn't it awesome? Loved working with those amazing Ruby Rocket Papers, the yummy Manor House Flowers and Flying Unicorn Flowers too!
Back to MORE layouts! Oh, I love my burlap, and when I saw burlap pattern, OMG I had to use it, I am telling you, those French Kiss Papers, AMAZING!!! SO beautiful!
Isn't the paper simply wondeful? It really adds so much! I used a lot of metals and vintage jewelry in most of my layouts this time around, I found they fit perfectly with all of the papers, so beautiful. Next, I made a Printers Tray, oh yes, I loved it, I used some of the flowers from the flower add-on, which is SUPER worth the money, it has so many delicious flowers in it! SOOO GORG! Prima, Manor House, Kaiser, OH MY!
Again I used some of the beautiful Glitz paper, cannot get enough of it!
Yummy lace, also in the kit, aahhhh so beautiful....
Finally, my Off the Page birdhouse! I went with an awesome SteamPunk theme, which is what my challenge on the forums is all about! I went to Home Depot's Scrapbooking section (oh yes I found it lol) and got me some heavy metals! Take a look!

I loved the little fence that comes with the kit!! I brushed some crackle paint over it and fussy cut one of the decorative sheets from Megs Garden behind it. Added some Flying Unicorn roses from my stash. I used the Prima bird stamps from the kit to adorn the top of the fence.
I misted one of the flowers with some Glimmer Mist and added some crackle paint..I am loving to paint everything these days ;)
For this next one I used the Fabscraps papers that came with the kit. The DA vine was from my stash which I got from the store.
There is that gesso again! I used it with a stamp I had (great tips from Shona!) I used Distress Stain Peeled Paint on the vine and then dabbed some paint on it which I blended with a qtip.
Thickers came in the kit, and I used them for "He". Almost all the flowers were from the kit and flower add on kit too.
For this next one I did lots of different masking on the background. I made this for a friend and co worker. I really wanted to make it rustic and feminine at the same time.
This next two are my faves. I really loved the decorative papers that came with the kit. Great for fussy cutting!! The DA flower is from my stash and is available at the store, as is the gate on the 2nd one.
I made the hot pink flowers using the cardstock. I will be doing a tutorial on them at a later date if anyone is interested. they are super easy and way cute!
I used Bo Bunny's Country Garden papers for the roof and painted the little fence with Distress Stain-Vintage Photo.
I used some of the lace that was included to add to the window sills.
A couple more pics and close ups. The little bird nest is also included in the kit!

Hi everyone, Shona here today and I have so many projects to show you that I have created so far with the April Kit “A Touch of Spring”. So grab a coffee and sit back and I hope that you can get some inspiration from what I have created.
First up is the OTP project, it is a gorgeous bird house. I have first painted it and then I have gone with a Fall/Halloween them for it. Adding in lots of Dusty Attic chippys, flowers, and goodies.
Now for that sketch that is floating around here that I created ….well yes I have made so many layouts with it. You can turn them the sketch different ways to get different looks. I love using sketches and here is what I have done with this one. I have made the first 4 layouts of my kit with it.
You Only Live Once..using some of the yummy Fabscraps, Megs Garden and Ruby Rock-it papers in the kit. Lots of inking, distressing, and machine stitching.
Adventure. For this layout I have used some of the yummy Fabscraps and Glitz papers. I have done lots of distressing, inking and a bit of masking. The cut out shapes are done with the kit papers on my cricut.
Birthday Boy. I LOVE this Glitz collection, my fav from t hem this year so far! I made all the flowers with the kit papers on this layout, using my Tim Holtz die. I have used some of the kit lace in between the heart layers to give them dimension. The chippy from Dusty Attic and the store here is finished with a mixture of gesso and beads.
Delight. This is a photo of my daughter in my garden. I have used gorgeous papers from Fabscraps and Megs Garden for this one. I made two of the purple flowers and the rest come in the kit. The bow is also made with a wire ribbon that is in the kit.
Enjoy the Simple Things. For this layout I have used some of the Glitz papers. I have done some deep edge distressing on this one and love how the back of the paper shows when you do that. I have used some gesso, corrugated board and burlap behind the photo.
New Bike. This is my grandson and he just turned 2 and was so excited to get a balance bike from his Aunty for his birthday. Lucky spoiled boy. I have used some Glitz papers and did the brick work with my Prima Brick stamp and gesso. See that little fence, yepp that is in the kit too! The chippys are all from Dusty Attic and available in the store here.
An everyday kind of wonderful. I used one of the recent mojo Monday sketches for this one, and it is just loaded with layers of Ruby Rock-it and Megs Garden. The cute little cameo was a gift from our own Cathi O…thanks Cathi!

I am happy to share with you today a brand new layout using the new collection Nature Garden by Prima which is available in the Flying Unicorn Store now. I really love this collection because it has so much wonderful imagery and beautiful tones. It really does remind me of nature. I really particularly love the fairies and the wonderful vintage undertones! Gorgeous!
I made this layout and I used a sweet photo of the dear hubby sleeping, isnt it just adorable?
