Butterflies and ZVA~Tammy

 Hello everyone! Happy Saturday! I love Saturday's, happens to be my favorite day of the week.. Fridays are my next to favorite! You know what else is my favorite?! To use ZVA bling for butterfly trails! They really are the icing on the cake! You can find them here in the Flying Unicorn store. Along with many new items loaded in the store daily! Here is the LO that I did using the awesome ZVA bling! I also used Creative Imaginations IOD for this LO. Which is also sold in the store.

 I also used some of our Yummy Flying Unicorn blooms too! The butterflies are compliments of Lisa Gregory. Love using butterflies and bling on my LO's.. Here are some close ups.

New Prima Nature Garden Creations

Hey scrapping friends! Denise here to share a couple creations using the new Prima Nature Garden Collection from the Flying Unicorn store!

When I first saw the new collections..I drooled all over my keyboard! I couldn't wait to get my greedy little scrappy fingers on them! I ordered both Nature Garden and Sun Kiss  collections. But for these couple projects, I used just Nature Garden.

The first LO I did is of my beautiful grandson. I distressed the edges of the bg paper and used one of the papers from A4 paper pack which I then distressed and inked as well. I used Stormy Sky and Gathered Twigs Distress inks on this lo.

I masked the left side and made a 'banner out of some extra pieces. I painted the black chipboard letters with Shabby Shutters Crackle paint added a bit of cheesecloth and Prima Tile for accent.

The chipboard piece is from Imaginarium and I used Glimmer Glaze on it for color. Most of the flowers are Prima with some Flying Unicorn and a Manor House bloom mixed in.I also used Prima bling, and a heart from February's KOM.

 

My next project is a card...yes a card! I hardly ever make cards..but I've promised myself to do more and I did this one for a dear friend. I fussy cut the faires out and added some Websters Bloomers and Prima flowers..nothing too fancy..but hey, I'm a card beginner remember? lol

7 Dots Cards

Hi everyone, Shona here today and I have 3 cards to share with you that I have made with the gorgeous 7 Dots collection, some yummy flowers and goodies from the store here. I was on the 7 Dots blog and came across some amazing cards there, they all had such different designs and I was totally inspired by them and gave some of them ago.

 For my first card I have used my Cricut and cut out some doilys, leaves and swirl images to go on the card. Then I just added a few flowers and some liquid pearls.

 The second card has a few of the tags and fussy cut pieces from the collection on it. I love these add on sheets that you can get with collections with little tags and banners on them, they are perfect for embellishments. Again I have used my Cricut to cut out the leaves and finished it off with liquid pearls.

 My last card has lots of distressing on it, and I have fussy cut a heart and added some twine to it. I LOVE the Dusty Attic chippy and I have cut it in half for this card. Add a flower and some crinkle ribbon and you are done.

April KOM sneak peeks!!!

I love it when SNEAK PEEK day rolls around because the Creative Team is always so excited to share the KOM with you.  And yeah, we say it every month, but we really mean it this time, this is our FAVORITE kit EVER!!!  Alda just keeps out doing herself month after month.

This kit is absolutely crammed with goodies that you are going to want.  Much coveted papers from "over there" as well as some fabulous US designs.  I am really going to have to slap some duct tape over my kisser 'cause I am dying to tell you all about this wonderful kit!! 

The kit will reveal and go on sale at 12:01 am April 3rd.  I suggest you be waiting for it because, just like the others, it is going to sell out fast!

Zva....the finishing touch!

hi everyone!  Laura here and this week we are featuring the stupendous and spectacular Zva creative!  Their flourishes and  gems/pearls are often my finsihing touch I need to complete a layout.

On this first layout I wanted to use both the pearl and the gem flourishes.  I love to layer and layering flourishes just seemed fabulous!  I also used fabscraps Timeless line....another gorgeous line available at the Flying Unicorn store

On my next layout I wanted to add some more drama to my project and the black flourish was perfect!

I used the fabulous black flourish from Zva, Classic papers from Fabscraps, IR-RESIST-IBLE Alphas from tattered angels and red velvet glimmer mist all available at the Flying Unicorn store

Do you struggle when you are trying to adhere a flourish to your project?  They get tangled and end up all wonky so easily.  Here is a trick I found...

find out where you want the flourish

pull up just the bottom little bit

push the bottom part down where you want it while leaving the rest on the packaging

keep pushing the flourish down while you roll the packaging back

and voila...there is your flourish right where you wanted it

Fabulous Melissa Francis

Hi everyone!  Laura here to share a couple of Melissa Francis layouts I created!

Since spring is now here and I am so looking froward to the warmer weather, and sunshine. and of course Easter!  Now Melissa Francis is known for feminine and vintage items but they are so versatile, you can create many things...including a layout about boys on Easter!  I used Melissa Francis 5th Avenue papers and some resin pieces, and Petaloo flowers, Tiffanys Treasure, that sprayed with tattered leather glimmer mist and liquid pearls in white Opal for a finishing touch.  From my stash I used a doily, and grungeboard - all sprayed with glimmer mist, and some lace.

Now I could not resist creating a more feminine layout and these fabulous papers were perfect for one of my favorite photos of my niece

I fussy cutted the frame out of the 5th avenue Minerva paper and used foam dots to add some dimension.  I also used the liquid pearls as an accent to highlight the beautiful pattern in the paper.  More fussy cutting as I wanted to use the banner from the Essie paper on this project.

The chandelier drops were perfect to accent the frame shape!

and I used the other papers to make some flowers along with some from the flying unicorn!

Scrap Cake Party!

Hi everyone, Shona here today and I have some layouts and one cards that I have created with three different collections from Scrap Cake. These collections are all so amazing and they are all available in the store here!

 Cody

This layout was created using the NEW One Moment in Time collection. I used one of the sketches from the here and did lots of deep distressing, inking and some fussy cutting. All of the flowers are from the store and the chippys were in the Feb KOM. The photo is my grandson.

 

The larger flowers are Petaloo and the small rose buds are Flying Unicorn flowers. I tied some twine around the little tag that was in the Feb KOM. The leaves are fussy cut from the collection papers.

 

The chippys are just painted white and I added some liquid pearls to them. The twig heart is also from the Feb KOM. After I distressed the edges I used Vintage Photo Distress ink all around the edges.

 

Laughter & Smiles

 This layout and card were both created with the The Bright Side of Life Collection. I did lots of punch work and fussy cutting on this one. I LOVE all the things that you can fussy cut with this collection. All of the flowers are from Manor House and they are so gorgeous.  I also tucked in some Dusty Attic chicken wire and finished it all off with some liquid pearls. Everything is available in the store here. The photo is 3 of my grandkids.

 I cut lots of strips and inked them all and the leaves are fussy cut from the collection papers.

Happy Easter Card: This little card is also made with the same collection, lots of fussy cutting and flowers from the store.

 This last layout is done with the NEW My Private Happiness collection. The Dusty Attic chippy is first painted white than I added some glimmer mists to it. I also used the punched out portion from the chipboard and the same mist and did some masking with it. The photo is my grand daughter hamming it up for the camera.

 

Again this collection comes with all these wonderful tags and pieces that can be cut out and used on your creations.

 

I fussy cut the circles, inked the edges and used pop ups to give them dimension on the layout.

Melissa Frances by Mandy

Happy Wednesday Scrappers!  Mandy here bringing you some vintage inspired creations from the product line "Melissa Frances".  I love working with her products because they scream timeless vintage inspired.  "Melissa Frances" products can be found in the

 ON-LINE STORE.

I used the "Melissa Frances" resin scroll applique nestled in the flowers on my layout.  The little pink roses on the card are available in the store by "Flying Unicorn."  A beautiful "Melissa Frances" chandelier drop was added to the card.  You MUST check out the "Melissa Frances" products!  They're gorgeous!

**Oh My Melissa Francis** ~ Tammy

  Hello everyone! Hope your day is off to a awesome start! I have found a new love in the scrapping world! "Melissa Francis" would be that new love! I played with this pp for this post today and honestly I could have played for ever! If you like Vintage/Shabby chic well this would be a amazing paper line to check out! Not only is the pp awesome, there are cool embellies as well!! Let me show ya what I am so excited about! LOL

 I totally love these PP and will have to get me some more! The PP that I used is "Geraldine", "Ebony", "Minerva", "Jewell" and "Hattie"..  I also used the Vintage Embellishments too! The white rose at the bottom, the rose swag at the top and the little swirl below the title. As you can see I also played some more with those gorgeous Manor House blooms!! I colored them with inks and micas to match my project. All of these can be found in the Flying Unicorn Store! How about a few close ups?!

Here you can see that awesome rose! I distressed all the edges and inked them to create more added dimention to the LO!

 This is a close up of the Manor House Flower and the vine is Petaloo.. Those colors matched perfectly to my project so just had to use them!! Also the small rose is also MF vintage embellishment. Need to give ya another close up of those beautiful Manor House flowers!

 I just loved coloring them to match my project with my mica's and inks! 

 I made my title out of a tag and a awesome idea that I saw in the forums. Denise was explaining how to use perfect Pearls (which we just got a new shipment in theFlying Unicorn store of them) and versamark ink (clear watermark ink). So I just had to give it a try. All I did was stamp the image on my tag and use my powder over it, I used a Qtip to do this.. Stamped a Tattered Angel screen stamp and gave it a shot of Tattered Angels mist, I also inked the edges. It looked fab! The Alpha stamps are "Creative Imaginations".  Here are some other supplies that I used from my stash.. Off white little bitty ribbon flowers I found at Walley World as well as the white doilies. I used ribbon and lace from my stash. Some Vintage Doilies that a very nice lady who came to my work sold me. Love them!! And lastly Lisa Gregory Butterflies.

7 Dots Studio - Maggi

Have you seen this fabulous new line from Poland from 7 Dots Studios, Wonderland now in the store?  It is so yummy gorgeous, the colors are so rich.  I decided to go grunge today as I need a break from frilly laces and flowers now and then! 

Well here they are, the two hooligans, Chena and Escape Kitty.  Those two have been running around the wilds of Australia and sailing the high seas for the last couple of months.  I think they are in over their heads now, hanging out with dead guys and flying pirate flags and such, come home girls, enough is enough!!!

I had a blast making this layout and really loaded up on some fun techiques.  I started with a base paper - Duchess,next I cut a piece of Spades and Clubs and used one side as a backdrop for the DA vine and the otehr side as a large mat behind the photo.  I also tucked in a piece of Mushroom and Smoke, that's the spotted paper.  I made some embellies from the spots that I cut out and covered with glossy accents.  The whole idea I'm trying to convey here is an underwater world, so the dots are things floating in the water. 

I've tucked in some Dusty Attic fish net that I've stained with Lindy's Cattail Copper Brown mist and I layered in some burlap at the top.  Then the large photo mat is water distressed and heavily inked with Distress Black Soot and Scattered Straw.  Directly under the photo is Lindy's fusible webbing that I first inked with Prima inks in English Ivy and Blue Jay, then I sprinkled with Stampedous aged silver, emerald and sapphire embossing powders and heated to give it that great lacey effect.

The hinges are Tim Holtz grungeboard that I heat embossed with Stampendous aged silver, love that stuff, really gives a great aged look.    Just under the large photo mat, I stuffed  inked and crumpled old tax code!  Best use of tax code I've had in years! (I am a tax accountant.)  The letters are Kaisercraft chipboard that I covered with gold stickles.

I added a few shells and Prima vintage metals to finish it off.  I love how this came out, really fulfilled my need to get away from pretty!

Birthdays and 7 Dots - by Alda

Its that time of year again - that  one  manly card I need to make for my brother in law! Its a struggle for me  not to embellish with flowers and just a little more flowers ..  I am  not that  straight  line and simple  kind  of scrapper.  When 7 Dots reached the store  - I knew I was in  love and perfect  for  a  manly card ! 

With a mix of the  Dreamer and Wonderland Collection, a little liquid pearls and some metal embellishments the yearly manly Birthday Card ! 

 Liquid Pearls not only adds dimension, it  gives your projects that finishing touch.

For Father Collection from Pion

Hi everyone, Shona  here today and I have some layouts and cards that I have created with the gorgeous From Father Collection from Pion, available in the store. I love this collection to bits as there are sheets that are just pieces to fussy cut out to embellish your creations.

 

My first layout is titled So Proud, and is two of my grandsons this year. The cute little tags and butterflies are fussy cut from the papers. I did lots of distressing with the Prima Distress tool, added some Dusty Attic Chippys and inked with the Prima dark brown in…all available in the store too!

 

I added some ZVA crystals to the butterflies and the chippy is just painted with Distress Crackle Paint.

 

My next layout is titled Christine and this is a photo of my mom when she was about 17. It is very faded but I love it as I do not have many photos of her when she was young. I did lots of distressing again with the Prima tool and some masking with gesso in the background.

 

The corner scrolls and chicken wire are from Dusty Attic and I have painted them white first with dabber paint and than I added some glimmer mists and distress stain to them. All available in the store.

 

Thank you for Being You tag. The Pion collections come with these sheets that are loaded with tags, stamps, postcards etc…and they are so much fun to create with and the projects just seem to make themselves. This tag is all fussy cut items from that collection, the only thing I added was a bow and some liquid pearls to finish it off.

 

For the Happy Fathers Day card I first created a tag from the collection and than I added it to the card with another fussy cut strip from the paper. I tucked in some corrugated board and added some twine, a bow and flower, and some liquid pearls.

Focus On Prima Almanac Collection

Hello Everyone!!

Happy Friday!

Frank here, sharing a new layout made with the new Prima Almanac Collection which is available in the Flying Unicorn Store. I gotta say this collection was like love at first sight, it is truly a beautiful collection filled with vintage imagery, ledger, cursive writing and so much more. The colors are also so beautiful and the patters are perfect for layouts, and even cards!

I am loving the printed flowers, also from the Almanac Collection, they are so versatile and beautiful, the flowers, embellishments are also in the Flying Unicorn Store. I also used some of the beautiful 6x6 paper pad, it really is so versatile, I used pieces of it, and OMG it's perfect, I know it will sell out soon, grab yours at the store too! here are some closeups!

Lovely collection eh? Gotta love the colors, and the soft palette, it is truly stunning, I really loved working with these papers and this collection, so much to see and such beautiful designs. It was hard for me to rip through this paper!!! It was fun though to distress, and ink  this paper, as well as stamp on it, such a perfect paper to stamp on as well! You can never go wrong with Prima ;-) Well I hope I was able to inspire you today,

Birthday Card - Prima & Flying Unicorn

My sister had her birthday this week and   here are a few shots of the card  and the  box. I used  Prima's new paper line Meadow Lark Collection, and lots  of  Flying Unicorn flowers available in the  store. 

 I really  do not  like  making envelopes  ...  so   I decided to make a box  for the  card  ...

 The card, i s yes  like a mini mini album with  lots  of  little  flips ...  its  for my sister .. had  to be  special !

** A Little Taste of Spring with Fancy Pants** ~ Tammy

 Hey all! Have a LO to share today with ya using Fancy Pants! I am so ready for Spring to be here!! I have a picture, that I have been waiting on for a long time to scrap. Found a really awesome sketch in the Flying Unicorn forums that really help me capture everthing I wanted it to be... Spring!! I used 4 awesome PP from Fancy pants "Kissame" from the Love Bird collection, "Dilly Dally" and "Cards" From the Road Show Collection, and from It's the Little things collection "Honeysuckle". Combined these with some Dusty Attic, Flying Unicorn flowers and Manor House flower, well spring came alive for me! All of these are Available in the Flying Unicorn Store!! Get them quick before they sale out!! Now for my LO..

 This picture for me captures Springs essence! My DD thought that it was a image that I got off of the web LOL.. Nope.. Dear Ole Mom took it, I used Florabella and PSE to enhanced it! These papers really felt like they was made for this photo! I also used a Prima Resin bird and Bird nest. Some Lace that I misted and changed it to that shade of pink. Mist used was Tattered Angels. Also sold in the store. I also used some glaze and mist to treat the Dusty Attic with. Here are some close ups of that.

 Treated the Dusty attic with gesso and some puffy paint then applied the glaze. I added a couple of pearl centers from my stash. I have another close up of the Dusty Attic I also used it as a Mask in the upper corner and lower right side. Here is a close up of that.

 You can also see the other piece of Dusty Attic that I used glaze and puffy paint on. Oh and did ya see the gorgeous Flying Unicorn Flowers? They are gorgeous!!! Here is my last Close up of the flower cluster...

 That big beautiful pink Flower is Manor House! These are also gorgeous flowers!! I thought that the little nest completed the Spring feel to my LO.. Now are you ready for Spring? LOL

Getting Fancy with Fancy Pants! ~ Laura

 This week I had the pleasure to work with Fancy Pants Lilac house.  just becasue it has a flowery name does not mean it is for feminine projects only!  I also used the mistables ribbon and the mistables alphas and the tattered leather glimmer mist .  To add a little dimension I outlined the wood stars and dragonfly from my stash with liquid pearls and the fabulous mistables ribbon

In the second layout I used the more femine papers from the lilac house line.  I also used the Flying Unicorn flowers and layered the mistables ribbon that I sprayed with glimmer mist as well as the handmade flowers.

Fabulous Fabscraps

Hi everyone, Shona  here today and I have some layouts that I have created with the 2 new Fabscraps collections in the store. YUMMY love them both!

 The first two layouts are done with the new Organics collection. I love the vibrant colors of them! This is my grandson and his very first ice cream cone aww! I have done lots of masking, distressing and used lots of Dusty Attic Chippys from the store. I used a sketch over at Dusty Attic for this layout.

The white parts on this layout are all masking done with gesso to give it more texture. I have used some manderine glimmer mist as well.

 

The vine chippy is painted white than I used some olive glimmer mist on it. The clock and cogs are painted white first and then I have used glimmer glam, glaze and mists on them.

 

My second layout with this collection is me and it is call I am. I have used this weeks palette at CSI and the sketch from OUAS. Love the colors in this paper. I also used bit from one of the older collections on the dress form.

 

The transparency is from the March kit, the flowers on the dress form are Flying Unicorn ones, and the ZVA crystals are from the store too.

 

I have used my new Tim Holtz stamp, from the store, and added some journaling strips to it.

 

The birds and birdcage are rub ons from the store.

 

OK this next layout is done with the new Classic Collection. It is my entry into the American Idol challenge here and I have done lots of fussy cutting. The photo is my daughter in law and grand daughter.

 

The chippy is from Fabscraps and I have first painted it white than added glimmer mist to it.

 

I made the flowers using my Tim Holtz tattered flowers die and added some tulle from the March kit to them. I tucked in some Petaloo vines with them.

 

The bird cages and vines are fussy cut from the collection papers. I tucked in some doilys and added some liquid pearls to finish this off.

Happy Saturday Scrappers!

It's Mandy here bringing you some samples of my OTP project that was included in the March kit! I layered the skirt with "Fabscraps" papers (Shabby Chic collection) that can be purchased at the on-line store. I misted the "Kaiser" dress form with "Tattered Angels" glimmer mist. Many colors can be found in the store!

KOM - Putting on the Ritz

I have to say I LOVED putting this kit together, and  I hope that all who got one enjoy it as  much as I and the creative team has !  Putting on the Ritz, inspired me from the moment it was  determined that was the name. What a better way then to be inspired then making a mini album. Using the  chipboard letters in the main kit  TIME was a project I made,  With glamour and inspirational words inside, it is a mini album that I am gifting .. but  here is a sneak  of  the  cover and the  inside . 

Shona’s March Putting on the Ritz KOM Creations

Hi everyone, Shona here and today I have the rest of my creations that I have made so far with the gorgeous March KOM “Putting on the Ritz”. The colors in this KOM are amazing! You can create so much from vintage looking to masculine looking and more.

 My first layout is a photo of my son and grand daughter and is called Treasure. They are so close and their relationship is truly a treasure.

 

I have added in lots of the chipboard pieces and flowers that came in the KOM. I also added a piece of Dusty Attic which is first painted white then I added some glimmer mist and liquid pearls to it. You can find them all in the Flying Unicorn store.

 

My second layout is called “You” and it is my grand daughter. I just love the dark Basic Grey papers in the kit and all the chipboard pieces!

 

I made the large flower from the KOM papers and added some glimmer mist for color.

 

Lots of fussy cutting, punchwork, distressing, and I love adding some liquid pearls to finish off pieces.

 

My last layout is called Mother and Daughter. I have done lots of distressing, punchwork and lots of stamping on this one. Break out those stamps everyone! LOL!

 

Love the dress forms in the kit and I have dressed them up with the tulle in the kit and some twine. I added some pink glimmer mist to some of the kit flowers to add color to this layout.

 

Here you can see some of the stamping that I have done all over this layout.

 

The title is a piece of Dusty Attic.

 

For my last project I have made 3 tags with some pieces from the KOM. I had to use all the bits and pieces from some of the papers that I had left over. The cameo on the one was a gift from our own Cathi O ….thanks again Cathi, love them!

Denise's March Kit Creations!

Hey friends!

Denise here to share with you some projects I did using the new March kit here at Flying Unicorn!

Each month I keep saying "This kit is my fave"! lol But I'm telling you it's true!! Alda blows my mind every month and each kit just gets better and better! I love the fact that this kit was so versitile. It was classy, dressy, romantic, soft, all rolled into one.

So let's get started! Here is the first layout I did with the kit.

I did a little hand stitching in the upper left corner with my Sew Easy tool and used a script stamp on the chippie dress form and painted some burlap blue and laid it underneath the dress form.

I also used a DA border from my stash, painted it white and cut it into 3's which I used around the photo. Liquid pearls around the paper and lots of flowers. Vine and butterflies are from Lisa Gregory.

This next one is my fave I think.

I did alot of painting the flowers on this layout..I really liked the look it gave them.

I painted the dressform with Glam and then some white crackle paint.

I fussy cut out the cherub to add..and used some of the cardstock to make my own flowers.

I left the Mistables Flower from the kit plain as I thought it was just so pretty like it was and matched the layout better.

This next one is a fun layout I did of my dd.

I inked the birdbath and did some masking. I also made teh cameo and made some more flowers from the cardstock.

This next one is my lift of Ingrid G's "Precious Moments" layout. I only used the Bo Bunny Enchanted pieces for this one. The white cardstockk is from my stash. I misted it with some Chalkboard Glimmer Mist.

The only thing not from the kit is the Tim Holtz white trim, faith metal embellie, and the small letters. I misted some of the flowers with Cadillac Pink mist to give a little hint of color.I made the black felt flower from the fabric that is included with the kit.

Now the OTP is AMAZING! It's a dressform from Kaisercraft. I really wanted to try to go in a Marie Antoinette direction. I used paper and items from the kit. I couldn't find a template for a dress, so I just winged it so to speak. lol So it's a little off is some places..but it was great practice for the next one!!

Frank's March Kit Of The Month Projects!

Happy Monday Everyone!!!

Hope everyone had an amazing weekend and had some crafty time!! I am happy to share the projects I made with the March Kit Of The Month "Putting It On The Ritz" The included papers, embellishments and flowers are simply amazing, and I have to say this kit was the best one yet, so sit back and relax because this post will be picture heavy!!

This is my first layout I made for this kit, I gotta say my favorite papers in the kit were the Inkido papers, they were perfectly vintage, cream colored, simple perfection, it really allows for some amazing stamping too.  For this layout I wanted to keep a neutral palette, so I went with a cream color,  used some Glimmer Chalk Mist in French Vanilla available in the Flying Unicorn Store, the little angel stamp is a La Blanche stamp which has a high amount of detail, these stamps are also availabe in the store. Love the Pink Paislee Chippies too, the Alphas are just amazing!!! Beautiful to alter and distress, and what about that Penny Farthing OMG! My second favorite layout is the next one, I had a little moustache photo shoot with the dh, lol had so much fun with these pictures take a look

I also tried to keep the color scheme the same, I LOVE this one, it has got to be my favorite, I simply love how all of the embellishments work together, the Pink Paislee dress form chip which I distressed and inked, as well as that mistables flower part of the kit add-ons! The felt flower was amazing, and I loved working with it, I added a bit of gold to keep with the color. A lot of people have asked me what the chair embellishment is, is it a stamp? an acetate? well, its a little technique I learned at CHA from the owner of La Blanche stamps, she is amazing and I will have a tutorial on that later, it is made from UTEE (Ultra Thick Embossing Powder) and stamping, cool huh? Lovely, now the next layout was really fun to make, love the ripped center with the butterfly Inkido paper, soooo pretty, and it really allowed for the effect that these butterflies are playing in the middle of the paper pulling apart, neat huh?

There is another one of those moustache images, so fun! Love the little cherub on the side so cute, and oh. dont you love that top piece of paper, its also from the kit, amazingness!

The next one was another fun one, love the floral feel to it, and the brown earthy tones on it as well, the papers again in the kit are simply perfection!

The balloon is so adorable, I used some perfect pearls around the edge to create a nice border effect, perfect pearls can be found in the store, the flowers included in the kit were amazing to use, also the patterned felt was so much fun, I made some leaves and added them to the side, so pretty!

Those Pink Paislee chippies are sooo gorgeous!

The next one was so much fun too, I gotta love all the pink I used, I couldnt resist!!! There is a beautiful piece of pink patterned paper included and I just had to use it!

So pefectly vintage and pretty, and do you see those frames on the left? Yes included, and yes delicious! LOVE, I also love the leaves, I hand painted them pink and oh aren't they lovely? Those are also in the kit!

Now on to a card! I have to say this card was a fave for me! Loved making it, and the paper and Eiffel Tower piece I used from the kit was perfect for it!

Isn't the paper just wonderful? GORG! Now on to some Off The Page Goodness, the dressform was the first thing I made with this kit, I mean who could resist? It's just asking to be worked on~! I love how mine turned out, kinda looks like a chic wedding dress!

Love the pearls, trim, and flowers, I even made her a little scarf out of some of the tulle included!! Isn't she wonderful?

I also made a little purse, I had fun making this one, its so cute and perfect, and I love it! Take a look!

March KOM - Maggi here

I am thrilled to share these layouts with you that I did using the March KOM and addons.  We are all about fashion this month and this kit is great for fashion inspired projects but its also versatile so that you can make any kind of project.  The mix of papers is really outstanding, I loved the Kanban paper that I used on this layout - perfect for this wedding layout.  Note that the butterflies and flowers are actually silver foil and they picked up reflected colors when I photographed.  The silver is so pretty, but it acted a bit like a mirror in this photo.

The Flying Unicorn takes great pride in bringing you beautiful papers from all over the world and this month we are so excited to introduce you to Inkido papers from Sweden.  I really loved working with these soft pink colors, so perfect for this layout of my grand-daughters!

I love this picture of my brother and me, it was taken in Verdun, France where my Dad was stationed in 1951-1954 witht he US Army.  The base paper is Inkido that I masked with Prima masks and Black Magic Glimmer Mist.  The scalloped paper is BasicGrey Little Black Dress collection that I fussy cut.  I diecut the swirls using a Sizzix die.   The flowers are a mix of felt and fabric flowers.  I love the Eiffel Tower chippie, its a Pink Paislee House of 3 design.

I've saved my favorite thing from the kit for the last, and its the Off the Page project!!  This is a 17" tall wooden dress manequin that has a stand so that your beautiful creation will stand on its on.  Isn't this just soooo sooo fun?  I dressed my mannequin in papers from the BasicGrey Little Black Dress collection and black tulle from my stash. 

My design was inspired by this gown created by Christian Dior.  He is the designer that I decided to use as my fashion muse this month.  I think this gown is divine!!

We have so many fun challenges going on this month!  In addition to the monthly challenges we always have, we're having our Haute Couture at the Flying Unicorn challenges too.  We're designing fashion collections, making shoes, purses, all kinds of great accessories.  Be sure to join in the fun.

Hi everyone its Laura!!!  I really enjoy working with Kasier products....This time I worked with the incredible 'Chapter one' line

With this layout  I cut the shaped paper, named experience in half, and layered smaller piece over.  I also used the Belief paper as a photo mat...

I also inked the laser cut fence in the black  and used some liquid pearls as accents.  The flowers were made out of the leftover papers!

On my next layout I wanted to add a little bit of dimension and distressing so I got the papers wet then rolled them up in a ball, unrolled them, flattened them a bit and dried them with my heat gun.

This was super easy to create...

1) I used two pages from the Kasier album

2) I cut my paper to fit and punched the holes in the top

3) I created two layouts using the paper I cut, and added some embellishments, and glued them onto the two Kaiser chipboard pages

4) I added binder rings

5) To make it so the photo display does not fall and flatten I cut two pieces of lace to 3" and hot glued one end the front and one to the back

6) to cover the glued edge I made a bow and glued it on

7) I tied ribbon and lace to the binder rings!

Hi I'm Jeni. I'm thrilled to be a part of such a diversely talented group of scrappers working with the Creative Team and Members of Flying Unicorn. I'm an Aussie with a Canadian dh, so we get to spend time in two beautiful countries, Australia and Canada. We have twins, a boy and girl who are growing up way too fast for me and my camera, and a dog Buddy.

Inspired by my Grandma's talent for crafts, I've always loved to create in some form or another. I've been a scrapbooker forever,lol. Even as a child I would take photos and write stories about them. I've been scrapbooking as we know it today for about 15 years. Although in the early days all we had were stickers! My style has changed over that time and with so many influences and fabulous products. Today, I guess I have two distinctly different styles Storybook/whimsical style usually in 3d, where I love to extend the photo and create a scene. I also like to create in a Shabby/arty/, sometimes messy kind of style. lol.

I been lucky to have had many opportunities in scrapbooking. For the past 5 yrs I've been a design team member on the Colour Team for Scrapbook Creations. I've authored regular features and three year long series of published articles, "What's Your Style?"and "Scrapping with the Stars" (astrology and scrapping). More recently, "Reality Bites" (scrapping about real life issues).

I've been published in the Australian magazines Scrapbook Creations, Scrapbooking Memories and For Keeps. Internationally in Canadian Scrapbooker, Memory Makers, and Creating Keepsakes. I was also a tutor at the Australian Scrapbooking Convention. I've been on a few teams over the years, recently, in 2010, Dusty Attic and in 2011, My Creative Scrapbook.

I'm a Midwife and Teacher by professions when I'm not scrapping. I'd like to say I'm a domestic engineer, but I'm not really all that domesticated...I'd rather be scrapping!

From My Heart II Pion

Good morning everyone! Shona here with some creations that I have made with the New Pion collection…From My Heart II. As soon as Alda got it in the store I ordered it right away and could not wait to get my hands on it. The new 6x6 pages are so perfect for cards I wish I had gotten more! So grab a coffee, sit back and relax and I hope you enjoy what I have created with this gorgeous collection!

 Best Wishes Card

I used my Martha Steward Cherish punch to create the punched background for this card. The beautiful tag, border and butterflies are all cut from the Pion papers. I have added a doily, some flowers and a big bow to finish it off.

Moments Card

This was created with the 6x6 papers. I have distressed and inked them. The postcard is fussy cut from the papers as well and I added some flowers, a bow and some liquid pearls.

Believe Card

For this card I first created the tag from the collection. I did some punching on the bottom layers and added some gauze, flowers, liquid pearls and bow. After it was complete I decided to make it into a card.

 A Perfect Day Card

This is a card that opens up in the center and is tied with a bow. I have added a birdcage rub on, a bird chippy, and some of the new yummy Petaloo flowers in the store!

 Tags

I love these tags that you just cut out from the papers and then dress them up. The images are also in the collection. I have added a doily to one and distressed layers behind the other one. Add some crinkle seam binding bows, flowers and liquid pearls.

A Loving Heart Pocket Card

I love making these pocket cards…they look so fancy but they are so easy to make. The tag slips out of the pocket. I have dressed them up with layers of Pion, flowers, a bow and ribbons.

Princess Layout

My last creation is a layout of my grand daughter. I have done a bit of masking, added lots of layers of Pion and yummy goodies.

 

The chippys are from Dusty Attic and all the papers are Pion.

 

The resin corner pieces on the photo are Shabby Chic ones from Prima. The chippy letters are first painted white than I inked the bottoms of them. I added some rock candy crackle paints and liquid pearls to them.

I tucked some gauze in behind the flower clusters, which are Prima, Petaloo, Kaisercraft and Flying Unicorn flowers.
